BARNEY
Our story
Barney was born through personal experience of struggles with addiction, relapse, and attending treatment centres. We’ve seen and experienced first hand the challenges of staying engaged in recovery post-treatment.
A close friend, Barney, tragically passed away after struggling with addiction which further reinforced the need for improved post-treatment support. We saw that treatment centres did the best with the tools and resources available to them but there was no truly effective way to keep alumni engaged long-term. Until now.

Tom has lived experience in recovery and a deep understanding of the challenges alumni face post-treatment. Combining this with his professional background in the technology sector, the vision for Barney was born.
Adrian Crump
Co-Founder & CFO
Adrian is the founder of Asia’s first and pre-eminent rehab, which he started in 2010. During his experience, he became aware of the pressing need for all rehabs to extend the period and quality of engagement with ex clients post residential care.
Robert Ransom
Co-Founder & Clinical Director
Having worked in a residential treatment centre, Robert understands the challenges in creating alumni loyalty. He has his own experience of addiction recovery and an MSc accreditation in Addiction Psychology and Counselling.

Cosmo, a leading figure in behavioural health, founded Start2Stop in 2010, now London’s largest private provider of secondary care and intensive outpatient treatment. With over 20 years’ experience in addiction treatment, he’s driven by a passion for improving recovery outcomes.
Adrian Durham
Chairman
Adrian founded FNZ, a fintech platform in the wealth management sector, and over 20 years built it into a global business generating more than a billion pounds in annual revenue before retiring as CEO last year. He brings deep strategic, technological, and commercial expertise, along with a passion for improving outcomes in behavioural health.
